Written for children between 5 and 10 years old, The Little Singapore Book presents the fascinating story of Singapore from 14th century to present day and introduces young readers to Singapore’s history and culture through vivid storytelling, engaging activities, and interesting and little-known facts. 

 

This project is a non-fiction book that depended heavily on historical accuracy, so research was a big factor from the start. Combing through photo archives and museum galleries, I realised that so much of history is presented to us through black and white photos, and I wanted to add colour and life to my illustrations of the 'olden days' in a way that would be appealing to children.
